Dr. Mohamed Shariff is a trained specialist in gastroenterology, liver and pancreatic disease at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology and has a sub-speciality interest in liver and pancreatic disease.  He performs general endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as the more specialist procedures endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

He studied medicine at Oxford University (1995 to 2001). His registrar training was undertaken in London at the Hammersmith, St Mary’s and Charing Cross Hospitals where he developed an interest in liver disease. He completed a PhD studying the biomarkers of liver cancer at Imperial College London and then spent a year at King’s College and the Royal London Hospitals Liver units. He then undertook a one year fellowship in ERCP and EUS at the Hammersmith Hospital.  He maintains an active interest in clinical research, with a focus upon liver and pancreatic disease.
