The new Chair - Richard Sumray - brings a wealth of hands-on experience from across a range of public bodies, which encompass health and sport, policing and education as well as the voluntary sector.

He was previously Chief Executive of London International Sport, and more recently has been the Chair of the London 2012 Forum, working with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.

Richard has extensive experience and networks within the NHS. He was the Chair of NHS Haringey (Primary Care Trust - PCT) for ten years from 2001 to 2011, a member of the London Health Commission until October 2008, and chaired the Joint Committee of all London PCTs that led the consultation on the significant reforms of stroke and trauma services in London. In September 2012 he was appointed to chair Health Education England, South London.

He has been a magistrate since 1984 and for more than 20 years has been a chair of youth and family proceedings courts in inner London.

Richard took up the three-year appointment on 1 November 2014. He takes over from James Reid who been the Trust’s Interim Chair since March 2014, when the former Chair Mike Robinson retired.
